Excellent base for sightseeing and coastal day trips.
Amalfi feels like a lively, compact seaside town where landmark-hopping is easy and the waterfront energy never really stops. Around Fontana Sant'Andrea, Amalfi Busto Di Sant'Andrea, and the harbor-side shops, the atmosphere blends historic charm, ferry-and-bus bustle, and casual dining. Expect crowds, cheerful noise, and a distinctly tourist-friendly, come-and-go rhythm.
Easy access to central landmarks and waterfront sights
Ravello feels poised above the Amalfi Coast, calmer and more refined than the seafront bustle below. Sightseeing centers on scenic viewpoints, gardens, and nearby Amalfi highlights like Fontana Sant'Andrea, Amalfi Busto Di Sant'Andrea, and Mercanti d'Arte. It suits travelers wanting elegance, quieter evenings, and easy access to coastal culture rather than constant action.
Agerola feels like a cool, upland base above the Amalfi bustle: quieter, greener, and more local, with mountain air and sweeping views toward the coast. Sightseeing is more of a scenic-hop than a doorstep stroll, but it suits travelers who prefer calmer evenings, hearty trattorias, and easy access by bus to Amalfi’s landmarks and waterfront.
I've been lucky to have a room with an amazing sea view. The view was simply stunning! I've made countless photos... :-) The room had a loggia ( with sea view), spacious bathroom and a little kitchen. Be aware that not all the rooms have a sea view. Quite close to the city center, restaurants and St. Theresa beach and one of the ports. The host, Rocco, was super kind and flexible with my early check-in - thank you! If you don't like taking 140 steps down the stairs, you can choose another path, a few hundred meters downhill. For getting up the hill, there is an escalator. I have spent an amazing weekend here with a stunning sea view every moment of the day. ♥️

Everything for the money you pay was great.

30mins walk from Salerno train station and ferry to Amalfi coast. Not a problem for us since we are young couple and there is a bus which is sometimes unreliable.
