About Ravello
Ravello feels poised above the Amalfi Coast, calmer and more refined than the seafront bustle below. Sightseeing centers on scenic viewpoints, gardens, and nearby Amalfi highlights like Fontana Sant'Andrea, Amalfi Busto Di Sant'Andrea, and Mercanti d'Arte. It suits travelers wanting elegance, quieter evenings, and easy access to coastal culture rather than constant action.
Pros
Elegant, scenic atmosphere with memorable views
Quieter than Amalfi’s busiest waterfront areas
Good base for culture, strolling, and nearby sights
Considerations
Limited nightlife and late-evening energy
Steep terrain can make moving around tiring

Salerno’s historic core around Via dei Mercanti feels compact, lively, and deeply walkable, with Amalfi’s coastal landmarks within easy reach by local transport and sea connections. Expect a mix of everyday Italian energy, old-stone streets, and strong dining appeal, plus moderate bustle that rises near sightseeing spots and evening promenades.
Excellent base for sightseeing and coastal day trips.
Amalfi feels like a lively, compact seaside town where landmark-hopping is easy and the waterfront energy never really stops. Around Fontana Sant'Andrea, Amalfi Busto Di Sant'Andrea, and the harbor-side shops, the atmosphere blends historic charm, ferry-and-bus bustle, and casual dining. Expect crowds, cheerful noise, and a distinctly tourist-friendly, come-and-go rhythm.
Easy access to central landmarks and waterfront sights

Agerola feels like a cool, upland base above the Amalfi bustle: quieter, greener, and more local, with mountain air and sweeping views toward the coast. Sightseeing is more of a scenic-hop than a doorstep stroll, but it suits travelers who prefer calmer evenings, hearty trattorias, and easy access by bus to Amalfi’s landmarks and waterfront.
It was a very charming, romantic and memorable stay!
This was a wonderful location for our stay in Ravello! Our room was at the very top of the hotel (literally) and the view was amazing! The two level veranda, hot tub and a generous double shower were wonderful! The details are so elegant and beautiful. The staff were all so welcoming and efficient. Lu could not have been any more knowledgeable and helpful in every way. She was so quick to respond and assist with many details long before our arrival. She arranged for transport from Ostuni to Ravello and from Ravello to Naples. The driver, Valentino, was excellent and very nice.
Could be better
We did not realize beforehand that our room was quite small… but it had some great features. There are forty stairs from the lobby to the room up a winding staircase. We had to use an outside cabinet to store some of our clothes and luggage.

The location is gives it one of the best views in Ravello. The room itself was stunning! There are only six in the whole villa and each is unique. Having breakfast served on our balcony was a highlight. The staff are wonderful! Luisa in particular ensured our arrival and departure were stress free. Would definitely go back.
